PM Deuba urges rebel candidates to withdraw their nominations

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has appealed to the leaders and cadres, who had filed their candidacies against the directive of the ruling coalition, to withdraw their nominations.

Issuing an appeal on Thursday, Prime Minister Deuba, who is also the President of Nepali Congress, urged the leaders and cadres to withdraw their candidacies by 5 pm today.

He said that it was necessary to forge electoral alliances with the transformative forces for democracy and to protect the constitution.

“I am aware of the situation where a deserving friend is filing his/her candidacy and another equally deserving friend is not getting that opportunity,” PM Deuba said.

He urged the leaders and cadres to think that the friend’s candidacies are like their candidacies for the victory of the party.
