1 killed, 1 injured as tipper hits scooter in Bhaktapur

BHAKTAPUR: A person died and another sustained injuries when a tipper hit a scooter at Chardobato of Madhyapur Thimi, Bhaktapur along the Araniko Highway on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as the two-wheeler rider Gyanendra Malla Thakuri (32) from Bethanchowk of Kavrepalanchowk and currently residing at Chagunarayan municipality-3.

According to Metropolitan Police Range Bhaktapur’s deputy superintendent of police Raju Pandey, the tipper (Ba 4 Kha 8581) en route to the Nepal-Korea Friendship Municipality Hospital from New Thimi hit the scooter (Ba Pra 02-023 Pa 7769) heading towards New Thimi from Gatthaghar.

Pillion rider Bimal Shrestha (33) from Myagdi and currently residing at Chagunaryan-3 is undergoing treatment at the Madhyapur Hospital.

Following the accident, police apprehended tipper driver Tul Bahadur Sapkota (36) of Ramechhap district.

Police said that they are further investigating the case.  RSS
