Five-party election mechanism discusses reports came from local units

KATHMANDU: A meeting of the five-party election mechanism formed under Nepali Congress senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel discussed reports came from the local level.

In the meeting held at the Prime Minister’s office in Baluwatar on Sunday, the parties discussed reports on forming alliance in the local elections.

Government spokesperson Gyanendra Bahadur Karki said that no decision was made in the discussion.

He said that the parties are preparing to submit suggestions to the top leaders on how to take the coalition ahead in the elections.

Karki, who is also the Minister for Communications and Information Technology, said that almost all the local levels sent reports to the mechanism.

The mechanism was formed under Paudel to forge alliance in the forthcoming civic polls.
