Nepal thrash PNG by 37 runs to enter final of Tri-Nation T20I Series (With photos)

KATHMANDU: Nepal beat Papua New Guinea (PNG) by 37 runs to enter the final of the Tri-Nation T20I Series.

Put into bat first, Nepal set a target of 204 runs against PNG  in the match played at the TU ground in Kirtipur on Thursday.

Chasing the target, PNG were bowled out in 166 runs in 19.4 overs.

Karan KC took five wickets at the cost of 21 runs in 3.4 overs while Abinash Bohara claimed two wickets at the cost of 34 runs in four overs for Nepal.

Likewise, Sompal Kami and Sandeep Lamichhane claimed two wickets and one wicket respectively.

Dipendra Singh Airee scored the highest 66 runs off 33 balls hitting four sixes and three fours.

Similarly, Rohit Paudel contributed 41 runs off 23 balls with two sixes and four boundaries.

Opener Asif Sheikh made 38 runs off 29 balls hitting one six and four boundaries and another opener Kushal Bhurtel scored 17 runs off 20 balls.

In his debut match, Adil Alam made 31 runs off 11 balls.
