Government scraps license of three casinos over royalty issue


KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has scrapped the license of three casinos after they failed to pay overdue royalties and taxes to the government.
A ministerial level meeting held on Tuesday decided to scrap the license after these casinos failed to clear the overdue royalties and taxes despite repeated reminders.
According to a statement issued by the Department of Tourism, the Ministry has scrapped the license of Rock International PVT. Ltd Kathmandu, Happy Hour PVT. Ltd Kathmandu and Oriental Hotels (Hotel Radisson).
The Ministry has decided to urge the Home Ministry and Nepal Police headquarters for the implementation of the decision, the statement read.
