1 killed in Butwal road accident

RUPANDEHI: A person has died in a road accident at Jit Gadhi of Butwal sub-metropolitan city-13 on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Manoj Thapa of Dhurkot rural municipality, Gulmi, said Nawaratna Paudel, Spokesperson at the District Police Office, Rupandehi.

The incident occurred when a scooter (Lu 83 Pa 4144) heading towards Butwal and a motorbike ( Lu 74 Pa 6016) coming from the opposite direction collided with each other at around 1 pm this afternoon.

Thapa, who was the rider of the scooter, was hit by a bus (Na 1 ka 4146) coming to Butwal after the collison, police said.

Police have taken the driver of the bus and the bus, motorbike and its rider under custody for further investigation.
