EC proposes date to file nominations for local level elections

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission has proposed the date of April 24 or 25 to file nominations for the local level elections.

Though discussions have been held to fix the date for registering the nominations, the decision has not been made yet, joint spokesperson of the Election Commission Surya Prasad Aryal said.

It has been learnt that discussions are underway not to give more than two weeks of time for the election campaign after filing the nominations.

The Election Commission is also planning to allocate two days of time for nominations.

The government has decided to hold local level elections on May 13 in a single phase.

The Election Commission has made a calendar to start the nomination process from April 24 and provide election symbols till April 30.
