PM Deuba in favour of forging electoral alliance
KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba said that success would be achieved in the elections only by forging an electoral alliance.
Saying that the party will easily win local, provincial and federal elections if it forges an electoral alliance with the parties of the coalition, the Prime Minister further said that the next government could also be formed under the Nepali Congress.
“It is necessary to forge an alliance with any of the parties in this situation. I became the Prime Minister with the help of the parties of the coalition,” he said.
Prime Minister Deuba said that the Nepali Congress needs to forge an electoral alliance to contest the elections with a strong party like CPN-UML.
He was of the opinion that the ruling coalition should be taken ahead by maintaining unity within the party.
Stating that only one party cannot garner a majority due to the country’s constitution and electoral system, the Prime Minister said that the Nepali Congress should forge an alliance.
