Ruling allies agree to table MCC in Parliament
KATHMANDU: Ruling coalition decides to table MCC in Parliament to table Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) in Parliament.
A meeting of the ruling coalition parties held at Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba’s official residence in Baluwatar on Sunday morning agreed to the MCC in the Parliament, CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Nepal said.
The meeting has also decided to present 41 bills pending the Parliament Secretariat.
“The MCC was registered at the Parliament Secretariat when KP Sharma Oli was the Prime Minister. The parties have agreed to table that compact in the Parliament,” he said.
Nepali Congress is in favour of endorsing the MCC as it is. CPN (Maoist Centre), one of the key members of the coalition, has been saying that the MCC should be endorsed in the existing form.
The party has already made a decision that it would vote against the compact.
The CPN (Maoist Centre) has also been saying that the MCC should be endorsed in the current form.
