Jumla woman files rape case against lawmaker Baniya
RUPANDEHI: A woman of Jumla filed a rape case at the District Police Office, Banke against lawmaker Mohan Baniya of Mugu.
Following the complaint, police have started an investigation against lawmaker Baniya.
The woman accused former minister and CPN-UML leader Baniya of raping her.
The District Police Office, Banke said that the woman filed the case on Monday.
The woman is a Maoist cadre and teacher at the government school.
“A woman has filed a case against the lawmaker on Monday and we have already started the investigation against him,” Madhusudhan Neupane, spokesperson at the District Police Office, Banke said.
She said that Baniya had raped her two times by using condom.
According to a source, the woman and Baniya had stayed at the Apsara Hotel of Nepalgunj a few days ago.
Baniya, however, said that this is nothing but a conspiracy to tarnish his image.
