PM, EC agree to hold local level elections on May 18

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and the Election Commission (EC) have agreed to hold the local level elections on May 18.

During a meeting held on Tuesday, Prime Minister Deuba and office bearers of the Election Commission agreed to hold the elections on May 18.

The Election Commission had been urging the government to hold the local level elections before May 19.

That is why, the Prime Minister in the meeting today proposed to hold the civic polls on May 18, a commissioner, who attended the meeting, said.
