MCC should not be endorsed in its current form: CPN (MC) Chair Dahal

KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal said that the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) should not be ratified without amendment.

He said so during a meeting with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal held in Baluwatar on Monday morning, Dahal’ Secretariat said.

Chairman Nepal also echoed Dahal’s views.

CPN (Maoist Centre) is not in favour of endorsing the MCC without amendment.

The general convention of the Maoist Centre had approved the proposal of party Chairman Dahal that the MCC should not be ratified in its existing form as some of the provisions of the compact are against the country and sovereignty.

The Maoist Centre leaders have been saying that the MCC should not be endorsed in the status quo even if they have to leave the coalition.
