Ruling coalition decides to hold local level elections by mid-June

KATHMANDU: The ruling coalition has suggested the government to hold the local level elections by mid-June.

Talking to journalists after the meeting of the ruling coalition held on Saturday, Nepali Congress leader Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, who is also the government spokesperson, said that the local elections will be held by mid-June.

The meeting also suggested the government to hold discussions with the Election Commission to fix the date for the elections.

Karki said that the ruling coalition leaders have also suggested the government to make necessary preparations to amend the Act if need be to hold the elections.
