PM Deuba consults with Dahal, Nepal on local elections

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba held a consultation with CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and CPN (Unified Socialist) Party Chairman MadhavKumar Nepal on Friday.

During the meeting, they discussed various issues like local level elections and amending the act among others.

Earlier on Thursday, the Prime Minister held a meeting with President Bidhya Devi Bhandari to discuss local elections.

Though discussions have been going on in the ruling coalition about the local level elections for a long time, it has not been able to fix the date yet.

The Election Commission has been urging the government to fix the date of elections at the earliest.
