Governmet reduces PCR test fees

KATHMANDU: The government has reduced the cost of PCR tests in both government and private hospitals.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the government hospitals and private hospitals will now have to charge Rs 800 and Rs 1500 per person respectively.
The cost of the PCR test has been reduced by RS 200 in the government hospital and by Rs 500 in the private hospital.
Earlier, the government hospitals used to charge Rs 1000 whereas the private hospital used to charge Rs 2000 per person as the cost of PCR tests.
It is said that PCR tests for those who are infected with Covid-19 will be free of cost in the government hospital.
