Irate audiences set fire to four vehicles after police barred Bhojpuri actor from going to festival (With video)

SUNSARI: Irate audiences vandalised and set four vehicles on fire in Barju Rural Municipality in Sunsari after police barred popular Bhojpuri actor Khesari Lal Yadav from going to the Barju festival.

The festival had started in Barju Municipality from December 7.

Bhojpuri actor Yadav was scheduled to arrive on the last day of the festival today.

He had been staying at a hotel in Biratnagar.

But, the irate audiences vandalised the stage and torched the vehicles after police stopped Yadav from going to the programme.

The organiser had sold the tickets in advance in the name of Yadav.

Those who bought the tickets vandalised the stage and set fire to the vehicles after Yadav did not show up in the programme.

A large number of security personnel have been deployed in the area following the incident.
