Department of Passport stops issuing new passports except for emergencies
KATHMANDU: The Department of Passport has stopped issuing new passports with exceptions for people who have a “qualified life-or-death emergency” after some of the staffers of the department tested positive for Covid-19.
Issuing a notice, the department said that it has stopped issuing new passports for the people except for the emergency ones like going abroad for treatment among others until further notice after some of its staffers contracted the disease.
The department has urged the people to fill up a form ([email protected]) with sufficient proofs and reasons in case they want to go abroad for medical treatment and for other emergency works.
