Over 60 health workers of TUTH test positive for Covid-19

KATHMANDU: Over 60 health workers of the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) in Maharajgunj have been tested positive for Covid-19.

According to the hospital’s Executive Director Prof Dr Dinesh Kafle, doctors, residential doctors and staffers have been confirmed positive for Covid-19.  He said that they are staying in home isolation.

“They are in home isolation. Many of them have no symptoms,” Kafle said.

The health workers might have been contracted the virus from the patients. The service at the hospital has been affected after the doctors tested positive for Covid-19.

Kafle said that the health system will have to face a huge problem if a majority of health workers in the country test positive for Covid-19.

As many as 35 Covid-19 patients are undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Dr Kafle said that the number of patients in the hospital has been increasing every day.
