Police recovered Rs 3.8 million from bike fuel tank, one arrested

JANAKPURDHAM: A team of Armed Police Force (APF) on Thursday arrested a person in possession of Rs 3.8 million from Nagarain in the Dhanusha district.

The arrestee has been identified as Amit Kumar Yadav (23) of Laxminiya Rural Municipality-1.

Inspector Sanjay Baral said that they have arrested Yadav along with Rs 3.8 million hidden inside the fuel tank of a motorbike with registration number plate Province 2-02 001 Pa 0477.

Yadav was arrested during a security check while he was coming to Nepal from India.

“Yadav had installed a nut bolt instead of a cap in the fuel tank. The police team found a huge cache of money when they opened the tank,” he said.

According to a source, Yadav is a Hundi operator.

Police are investigating the case.
