2 killed, 4 injured in Kapilvastu tractor accident

CHANDRAUTA: Two persons died on the spot and four others sustained injuries after a truck they were travelling in met with an accident at Rangai of Buddhabhumi municipality-3 in Kapilvastu on Tuesday.

The deceased have been identified as Shiva Kumari Tharu (48) and Phool Kumari Tharu (16) of the same locality, according to the Area Police Office, Gorusinge.

The incident occurred when a tractor (Lu 4 Ta 2402) carrying labourers fell around 20 meters off the road this morning. The labourers on board were heading to load sand in the tractor. 

Similarly, Balram Sunar, Krishna BK, Sarita Tharu and Seema Tharu were injured during the incident. They are receiving treatment at different hospitals. 

Police Inspector at the Area Police Office, Gorusinge, Leelaram Acharya, said that the tractor might have crashed due to over-speed.

Further investigation into the incident is underway, police said. RSS
