Snowfall cripples normal life in Humla

SIMIKOT: Normal life has been thrown out of gear due to heavy snowfall in different parts of Humla.

Following the snowfall, the temperature has dipped sharply in Simikot, Limi, Muchu, Khagal Gaun, Syanda, Hepkka and Bargaun other places of the district.

The continuous snowfall has forced people of Limi and Muchu of Namkha Rural Municipality bordering neighbour China to remain inside their houses, local Lakpa Lama of Muchu in Namkha Rural Municipality said.

He said that as thick as two-feet of snow has accumulated in Muchu.

However, the farmers of the southern part of the district have been elated after the continuous snowfall.

Locals of Adanchuli, Tanjkot, Chankheli and Sarkegand said that melting snow would make the soil wet and crops would grow better.

Teacher Prithvi Shahi said that the farmers of the southern part of the district have breathed a sigh of relief after the snowfall.
