Plans afoot to hold local level elections on May 3

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission is planning to hold the local level elections on May 3, 2022.

Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya said that the poll body is preparing to hold the elections of 753 local level on May 3, 2022.

Thapaliya said that the Election Commission will soon recommend the government to fix the date for the local level elections.

He said that the Election Commission  is also planning to hold Province Assembly and House of Representative elections and elections to the post of president and vice-president in February.

Election Commissioner Thapaliya urged the media persons to help the Election Commission hold the elections in a free, fair and impartial manner.
