High-level committee formed to resolve NRNA problems
KATHMANDU: Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) President Kumar Panta has formed a four-member high-level committee to resolve the problems of the association through talks.
He decided to form the committee after Kul Acharya camp warned of not taking part in the election.
Central members Bishwo Adarsha Pandit, Yadav Pandit, secretary Gauri Joshi and spokesperson DB Chhetri are in the committee.
Writing a letter to the members of the International Executive Secretariat, Panta said that he started holding discussions with the advisors and members of the ICC among others to find a solution to the problems.
But he did not say anything about the postponement of the election schedule. The election was scheduled to be held on December 26-27.
Talking to Nepal Press over phone, Kul Acharya, an aspirant for the post of president, said that they would take part in the election if the association addressed their demands.
The debate has surfaced in the NRNA over the name list of voters.
The Acharya faction has been saying that the elections should be held by resolving the problems while President Panta has been saying that the elections should be held on the scheduled date.
