5 Bangladeshi nationals held with 1 kg gold from TIA
KATHMANDU: Police on Tuesday arrested five Bangladeshi nationals in possession of 1.31 kilograms of gold from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).
The arrestees have been identified as Tahidul Tanwir (30), MD Yunus Ali (30), Shovan Talukdar (50), Zahidul Islam (25) and MD Mirazul (37).
Police said that they were about to board a flight to Bangladesh from Kathmandu when police rounded them up with the ornaments during a regular security check. They came to Kathmandu from Dubai on a Himalayan Airlines’ flight.
Police have recovered 216 grams of gold from the possession of Tahidul, 233 grams from Yunus, 100 grams from Shovan, 332 grams from Zahidul, 430 grams from Mirazul.
They have been sent to the Customs Office at TIA for further investigation.
