6 ordinances presented at Parliament amid mayhem
KATHMANDU: Minister of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Dilendra Prasad Badu presented Nepal Police and Provincial Police (Operation, Coordination and Supervision) Ordinance 2078 at the first meeting of the winter session amid CPN-UML lawmakers’ sloganeering on Tuesday.
Similarly, he also presented Acid and Other Hazardous Chemicals (Regulation) Rules, 2021 Bill and first amendment to Social Security Ordinance.
Likewise, Railway Ordinance 2078 BS, amendment to the Act against Sexual Violence and amendment to some acts related to criminal offense and criminal procedures were also presented at the meeting.
Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota had urged the UML lawmakers not to obstruct the Parliament meeting but to no avail.
Earlier on December 3, UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli had said that his party would continue obstructing the House proceedings until the lawmakers expelled by his party attend the Parliament meetings.
The next meeting has been scheduled for 1 pm on Tuesday.
