NC establishment faction says President Deuba’s leadership inevitable

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress establishment faction has said that President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s leadership is indispensable for yet another term.

A meeting of the establishment faction held at President Deuba’s house in Budhanilkantha decided to participate in the general convention under the leadership of Deuba himself.

The meeting has decided to hold discussions with the senior leaders of the party for the management of the leaders willing to vie for the office bearers and central members.

During the meeting, Prakash Sharan Mahat, Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand, Information and Communications Minister Gyan Bahadur Karki, spokesperson Bishwo Prakash Sharma and leader NP Saud among others have expressed their desire to compete for the post of general secretary.

Some central members have expressed their intent to contest for the post of assistant general secretary.

Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Mahat said that the meeting discussed further strengthening the establishment faction.

The meeting has decided that there is no need for a change in leadership and the leadership of Deuba is necessary to develop the country, he further said.
