EC publishes schedule for National Assembly elections

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission on Tuesday made public the schedule for the National Assembly elections.

The EC said that the parties can file registration at the poll body to take part in the National Assembly election from December 16-25.

Election schedule

1. Publishing voters’ list at the office of election officer- January 1
2. Investigation into the complaints filed against the candidates and publishing final voters’ list on January 2 and January 3 respectively
3. Filing of nominations and to publish the list of registered candidates- January 4
4. Registering complaints in protest of candidates-January 5
5. Decision over the nominations and complaints-January 6 and 7
6. Withdrawal of candidacies-January 8
7. Publishing final name list of candidates and distributing election symbol to candidates-January 9
8. Casting of vote on the voting day is fixed from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on January 26
