Govt to start issuing e-passport after December 14
KATHMANDU: The government has decided to stop issuing Machine-Readable Passport (MRP) from December 14.
Spokesperson of the Department of Passport Sharadh Raj Aran said that the government will start issuing e-passport after that.
People will get an e-passport from the new building of the department in Tripureshwor.
People have to go to the Tripureshwor-based office for the biometric after booking the date and time through an online application.
“E-passport will be distributed from December 14,” spokesperson Aran said to NepalPress.
The government had officially introduced a biometric passport on November 17 and handed over the first e-passport to 102-year-old historian Satya Mohan Joshi.
