UML closed session okays proposal to expand office bearers and Central Committee

KATHMANDU: The closed session of 10th general convention of the CPN-UML has endorsed the proposal to increase the number of office bearers and members of its Central Committee in the party.

Now, the Central Committee will have 301 members and 19 office bearers.

The Central Committee meeting of the party held on Friday night had decided to increase the size of the Central Committee.

The party has decided to increase the size of the Central Committee from 225 to 301 and it has also decided to form a 99-member politburo.

The 44-member Standing Committee will remain unchanged.

Similarly, the Secretariat will have 19 members. Earlier, the Secretariat had five members.
