Tipper hit kills scooter rider in Bhaktapur

KATHMANDU: A man died and another sustained injures after a tipper hit a scooter they were riding on at Adarshan Chowk of Suryabinayak Municipality-8 along the Araniko Highway on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Asim Limbu(24) of Dhankuta. Limbu was currently residing in Kusunti of Lalitpur.

The incident took place when a tipper (Ba 3 Kha 5423) en route to Jagati from Suryabinayak Municipality hit the scooter (Ba 57 Pa 3113) today, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Deepak Giri said.

Similarly, pillion rider Sandeep Maharjan (26) of Patan, Lalitpur was injured in the accident, informed Metropolitan Police Range, Bhaktapur.

Critically injured Maharjan is currently receiving treatment at B and B Hospital.

Police have arrested the Tipper driver Kiran Kunwar Yogi (31) originally from Dang and currently residing in Machhapokhari, Kathmandu. He had fled the scene following the accident.

Further investigation into the case is underway. RSS
