Decks cleared to assign cases through lottery system in Supreme Court

KATHMANDU: A regulation to prepare the cause list on the basis of the lottery system has been published in the Nepal Gazette on Monday. With this, decks have been cleared to assign cases through lottery system in the Supreme Court.

Earlier on November 18, a full court meeting of the Supreme Court had decided to amend the regulation. The regulation was amended according to the same.

Now, the full court meeting of the apex court will decide when the regulation published in the Nepal Gazette will come into force.

Lawyers associated with Nepal Bar Association and justices of Supreme Court Bar Association have been staging demonstrations for the past one month demanding resignation of Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana.
