NBA submits memo to Speaker Sapkota demanding impeachment of CJ Rana

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Bar Association, an umbrella body of legal practitioners across the nation, on Monday submitted a memorandum to Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota demanding impeachment of Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana.

A team led by Nepal Bar Association Chairman Chandeshwor Shrestha handed over the memorandum to Speaker Sapkota at the Parliament Secretariat this afternoon.

Receiving the memorandum, Speaker Sapkota said that he will try his best to end the ongoing stalemate in the judiciary.

The Nepal Association and dissident justices of the Supreme Court have been protesting against Chief Justice Rana for the past few weeks demanding his resignation.
