Death toll in Baitadi jeep accident reaches 6

BAITADI: The death toll in Baitadi jeep accident has reached six.

The deceased have been identified as Rajendra Bahadur Chand (48), Dhan Bahadur Chand (38), Prem Bahadur Chand (65), Tara Singh Thapa (65) and Khem Singh Karki (58) of Dashrathchand Municipality and Dipak Mali (40) of Dadeldhura.

Bodhraj Ojha, spokesperson at the District Police Office, Baitadi said that the ill-fated four-wheeler (Ma 1 Ja 310) was heading towards Simayal of Dashrathchand Municipality-6 from Gothalapani when the incident occurred.

According to Police Inspector Darshan Khadka, critically injured in the incident, driver Mali died on the way to the Dhangadhi Hospital.

Seriously injured Harka Bahadur Chand (48) of Dasharathchand Municipality-4 has been referred to the Dhangadhi Hospital for treatment, police said.
