Bike hit kills septuagenarian woman in Udayapur

UDAYAPUR: A 70-year-old woman died after being hit by a motorcycle at Jahada in Belka municipality-5 of Udayapur district on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Ichya Kumari Rai of Jahada, Belka Municipality-5.

The two-wheeler (Ko 34 Pa 2037) heading towards Rampur from Fattepur hit Rai at Beltar-Chatara section along the Madan Bhandari Highway yesterday, DSP Bed Prasad Gautam of the District Police Office, Udayapur said.

Critically injured Rai was rushed to the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan but breathed her last in the course of treatment.

Similarly, bike rider Alok Rai (35) of Saptakoshi Municipality-1, Saptari was also injured in the incident. He is undergoing treatment at the same hospital.

Police have taken the motorcycle under control.
