Two killed, 20 injured in Dhanusha tractor accident

DHANUSHA: Two persons died and 20 others were injured in a tractor accident at Belapatti in Bideha Municipality-7 of Dhanusha district on Thursday.

According to the District Police Office, Dhanusha, the deceased have been identified as Ram Dayal Raya Yadav (60) and Ambika Devi (45) of Sitamadhi, Bihar, India.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Jitendra Kumar Basnet said that the Indian nationals were heading towards Kamal River near the bordering area of Dhanusha and Siraha districts to observe the Bhoot Mela travelling in the tractor when the incident occurred last night.

The injured passengers are receiving treatment at the Province Hospital in Janakpur. Some of the injured are said to be in critical condition.
