2 killed, 18 injured in Udayapur tractor accident

UDAYAPUR: Two persons died and eighteen others sustained injuries after a tractor met with an accident at Danuwarbensi in Udayapurgadhi Rural Municipality-6 of Udayapur district on Thursday.

The deceased have been identified as Bowa sada (40) of Triyuga municipality-9 and Diwas Sarki (20) of Triyuga municipality-9. Sada died in Udayapur Hospital while Sarki passed away at the Biratnagar-based Neuro Hospital.

The tractor (Province 2-01-001-Ta 1083) was heading towards Rupatar at Tapli in the district’s hilly belt when the incident occurred at around 9:30 am, according to the District Police Office, Udayapur.

Of the injured, five are said to be in critical condition. They are receiving treatment in Biratnagar and Udayapur Hospitals, Bed Prasad Gautam, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of  District Police Office, Udayapur, said. RSS
