Duo arrested with gold ornaments worth millions of rupees in Kanchanpur
KANCHANPUR: Police have arrested two persons in possession of gold ornaments worth millions of rupees on Wednesday.
The arrestees have been identified as Lal Chandra Shahi (38) of Belauri Municipality-1, Kanchanpur and Bishnu Shahi (38) of Lamki Chuha municipality-1, Kailali.
A joint team of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force apprehended them with gold ornaments weighing 136.13 kg, INR 43,900, Hong Kong dollar 40, Thai baht 1,260 and USD 1,005.
Similarly, police have also recovered Canadian dollar 2,810, Malaysian ringgit 23, Singapore dollar 18, UAE dirham 130, Chinese Yuan 16 and stone weighing 1,998 gram from their possession.
According to a source, they stole all these things from a house in Bangalore where they used to work.
The duo has been handed over to the Area Police Office, Tribhvanbasti for necessary legal action.
