EC recommends govt to hold local level polls within third week of March
KATHMANDU: The Election Commission has recommended the government to hold the local level elections within the third week of March.
During a meeting with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, the Election Commission officials said that the elections should be held within the third week of March as per the law.
The tenure of the elected officials of the local level is expiring on May 19, 2022.
As there is just six months left to hold the local level elections, the government will not hold by-elections in the vacant posts.
Similarly, the Election Commission has recommended the government to hold the National Assembly elections within the third week of January.
