Man of Nepali origin shot dead at convenience store in Massachusetts

KATHMANDU: A Nepali-American man was shot dead in Massachusetts State of the United States on Monday.

Lal Kishor Mahaseth (54) was found dead inside the Stop N Save store in Fall River at around 10:30 pm Monday, Associated Press reported.

The person who called 911 had entered the store to purchase food and found the victim, the owner of a convenience store, on the floor behind the counter with blood on his chest.

Critically injured in the incident, Mahaseth was rushed to the hospital, but he was pronounced dead on arrival at around 11 pm.

Police are searching for the assailant.

Police have asked anyone who was in the area of the store before the shooting to contact them.
