35 injured in Sindhupalchok bus accident, 4 in critical condition

SINDHUPALCHOK: As many as 35 persons were injured when a bus they were traveling in met with an accident near Cha Kilo along the Lamosanghu-Jiri road section in Sindhupalchok on Sunday.

DSP Dakshya Kumar Basnet of the District Police Office, Sindhupalchok said that the ill-fated bus (Ba 2 Kha 3264) was heading towards Kathmandu from Lisankhupakhar Rural Municipality, Sindhupalchok when the incident occurred this afternoon.

Police said that four persons including the conductor were critically injured in the incident. They are undergoing treatment at the Dhulikhel Hospital.

Police said that others are receiving treatment at the Sindhusadabahar Hospital in Khadichahr and are said to be normal.

Police surmised that the incident might have occurred due to a brake failure.
