18 injured in Taplejung jeep accident

TAPLEGUNJ: As many as 18 persons were injured when a jeep they were traveling in met with an accident at Dokhu in Phungling-8 along the Mechi Highway on Thursday.

Of the injured, nine are said to be in critical condition.

Police said that the incident occurred when the four-wheeler heading towards Sirijungha from Phungling met with an accident due to brake failure this afternoon.

Inspector Rakesh Yadav of the District Police Office, Taplejung said that the injured are undergoing treatment at the District Hospital in Taplejung.

Inspector Yadav said that critically injured have been referred to the hospital out of the district.
