SAFF Championship: Nepal beat Sri Lanka 3-2

KATHMANDU: Nepal thrashed Sri Lanka 3-2 in their second match of the SAFF Championship played in Male of Maldives on Monday.

Sri Lanka were dominating the match from the beginning, but Nepal took the lead against the Sri Lanka in the 36th minute of the game through the goal of Suman Lama.

In the 51st minute, Anjan Bista doubled the score for Nepal following the pass of Ayush Ghalan.

Ayush Ghalan scored third goal for Nepal in the 86th minute.

Meanwhile, Marvin Hamilton scored first goal for Sri Lanka in the 57th minute while Dillon De Silva scored injury-time penalty to double the score.

Nepal will play against India on Sunday.

Earlier, Nepal defeated defending champion Maldives 1-0 in their first match of the tournament.
