UML removes post of senior leader from party statute

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML has removed the post of senior leader from the statute of the party. Earlier, there was a legal provision to appoint outgoing chairman as the senior leader of the party.

Now, the party will have a chairman, five vice-chairmen, a general secretary and six secretaries as the office bearers.

Similarly, there will be 12 members in the Central Disciplinary Commission, Central Audit Commission and Election Commission of the party including chairman, vice chairman and secretary.

Earlier, there was a provision to have only chairman and secretary.
