Irate locals set truck on fire after it crushes pedestrian to death in Janakpur

KATHMANDU: A pedestrian died after a truck hit him in Pidari Chowk of Janakpur on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Kishor Das of India.

Following the incident, irate locals set the truck (Na 7 Kha 4741) on fire. The truck has been completely destroyed in the fire.

SP Prakash Ranabhat of Dhanusha said that the truck hit him as he was walking on the wrong side.

police have arrested the driver immediately after the incident.

A large number of police have been deployed at Pidari Chowk to control the mob.
