One person killed with an iron rod in Chitwan

CHITWAN :  A person was murdered with the use of an iron rod at Rapti Municipality in eastern Chitwan. The deceased has been identified as Kanchha Lama, 59, of Rapti Municipality-9.

According to the District Police Office, Dasharath Malla, 50, murdered Lama with the use of an iron rod while the latter was passing through a local road at around 10 pm on Friday. 

Superintendent of Police (SP) Om Adhikari said Malla killed Lama because of a longstanding enmity. Police had to fire blank shots and used tear gas shells to bring the situation under control after locals pelted stones at police while arresting Malla, Adhikari informed. 

Five police personnel, including Police Inspector Roshan Khadka and two locals were injured in the clash.
