Government unveils achievements made in two months
KATHMANDU: At a time when the Sher Bahadur Deuba-led government, which was formed with the mandamus order of the Supreme Court, is being criticised for struggling to expand the Cabinet, the government has made public a 15-point achievement it made in two months.
Unveiling the list of the works taken ahead or completed by the government in a short span of time, State Minister for Health Umesh Shrestha has also kept the works done by the erstwhile CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli-led government in the list of the achievements.
Earlier, presenting the budget for the fiscal year 2021/22, the then Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel had increased the salaries of civil servants, Nepal Army and Nepal Police personnel among others by Rs 2,000.
The Deuba-government has also incorporated this thing in the list of achievements.
Similarly, the government termed the appointment of Kulman Ghising in the Nepal Electricity Authority and Bishwo Paudel in the National Planning Commission as its achievements of two months.
The government has said that it has been providing cheap food to the people in 10 different places of the Capital. But, the name of the places has not been made public.
The Deuba government further said that it has started providing a one time payment of Rs10, 000 each for 500,000 poor households affected by the pandemic and Rs 5,000 to chronic patients.
The government has said that it has started an initiative to forge national consensus on the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) and informal discussion to take the opposition CPN-UML into confidence.
Likewise, the decision to reconstruct Trichandra College and Ghantaghar has also been included in the list of achievements of the government.
