2 hundi operators nabbed with Rs 3.8 million made public

JANAKPURDHAM: Police on Thursday made public two persons arrested for allegedly running the illegal business of hundi (transfer of money through illegal channels).
Kanhaiya Prasad Sona (45) of Birgunj Metropolitan City-6 and Deepak Kumar Sarraf (20) of Parwanipur Rural Municipality-3 of Bara district were made public amid a press conference today.
Police said that the duo were detained with around Rs 3.8 million from Maisthan Chowk-based KP Jewellers in Birgunj Metropolitan City-6.
Acting on a tip-off, police raided the jewellery shop and apprehended them with the undeclared money.
Police said that they have started the investigation under the Banking Offence and Punishment Act.
