3 killed, 24 injured in Nawalpur bus-truck collision

KAWASOTI: Three persons died and 24 others were injured in a bus-truck collision at Nawalpur along the East-West Highway on Tuesday.

A bus (SuPra 2-001) en route to Mahendranagar from Kakadbhitta collided head-on with a truck (Na6Kha 7126) coming from opposite direction at Gaidakot-10 in Nawalpur this morning.

DSP Dilip Kumar Giri of Nawlapur said that three passengers died on the spot after the bus fell 10 metres down the road after it collided with the truck.

He said that two women and a man died in the incident.

There were 26 passengers including bus driver on board the ill-fated bus. Three among the injured are in critical condition. Similarly, even the truck driver sustained injuries in the accident.

The injured have been receiving treatment at the New Medical College, Bharatupur, DSP Giri said.
