Government allocates Rs 1 trillion for health sector
Kathmandu: Finance Minister Janardan Sharma reshuffled the ministry-wise budget expenditure through a replacement bill.
The Sher Bahadur Deuba-led government on September 10 unveiled a new budget for the fiscal year 2021/22, revising the plan announced by the former government through the replacement bill.
According to the revised budget, the government will spend Rs 1 trillion in the health sector.
Earlier, the then Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel allocated Rs 10.22 billion for the health sector.
The 1400 kilometres of road projects launched by erstwhile KP Oli led government has also been scrapped due to lack of budget.
Similarly, various allowances given to the employees under current expenditure will be reduced by 10 percent.
The government will spend Rs 5 billion to procure vaccines against Covid-19.
