1400 road projects launched by erstwhile KP Oli-led government scrapped
KATHMANDU: The government has scrapped 1400 road projects connecting the centres of each municipality through a replacement bill by revising the budget introduced by the erstwhile KP Sharma Oli-led government.
Presenting a new budget of Rs 1.63 trillion amid sloganeering by CPN-UML lawmakers, Finance Minister Janardan Sharma said that the government scrapped the projects due to lack of budget.
Minister Sharma said that the government has also decided to scrap the projects as the erstwhile Oli-led government decided to start the construction of the 1400 roads when there was lack of resources.
He said that the construction can be started after mapping the roads from an economic point of view.
The government halted the construction of the 1400 roads as they have not been studied from the economic and technical point of view.
